Kwila heartwood ranges from yellow-brown to dark red-brown, with slightly interlocked grain and a moderately coarse texture. Yellow vessel deposits are common, and it's nonsiliceous, occasionally lustrous. When wet, it bleeds, leaving a dark red-brown stain. Rosenfeld Kidson imports only FSC®-certified Kwila from responsible, well-managed sources.
