The wood is pale yellow-white with distinct annual rings, straight grain, tight knots, and a fine texture. It's dense for a softwood due to slow growth, moderately durable, with heartwood resistant and sapwood moderately resistant to preservative treatment. Larch dries fairly quickly, with slight degrade, but kiln drying is effective.
