RK Timber’s innovative range of timber cladding products have revolutionised the timber cladding market, providing practical solutions that improve performance, buildability, and the aesthetics of timber facades.

Vertical and modern Rusticated weatherboards in Western Red Cedar and Truwood® continue to be the cladding of choice for many architecturally designed houses.

Simple vertical and horizontal cavity components expand the products’ use. Innovations include 20mm and 45mm cavity batten systems, an exciting range of extruded powder-coated or anodised flashings, and the ever-popular INTERSET® recessed window flashing system.

CEDAR

Western Red Cedar heartwood ranges from dark brown to pink, maturing to reddish-brown and weathering to silver-grey. Its paler sapwood, straight grain, and coarse texture complement its low shrinkage, making it durable and easy to machine, oil, and finish.

Cedar is perfect for cladding, mouldings, panelling, shingles, shakes, and joinery, with custom profiles available for enhanced designs. Lightweight and easy to work with, it planes smoothly and provides an excellent base for paint or stain.

Sustainably sourced from British Columbia’s certified forests, cedar resists warping, twisting, and checking, standing out among coniferous woods.

LARCH

European Larch is a natural timber cladding option from well-managed forests. Its pale appearance ranges from light reddish-brown to golden brown, weathering to a muted grey. With distinct annual rings, straight grain, and interspersed knots, Larch offers a contemporary, rustic aesthetic.

Available in RK Timber’s Vertical, Rusticated, Bevel Back, and Board & Batten cladding systems, it pairs seamlessly with customised corner and jamb details. Sourced from extreme climates, Larch grows slowly, resulting in close growth rings, fine grain, high resin content, and excellent durability.

Its rustic knots, fine grain, and Nordic charm make it a unique alternative to Cedar. Factory oiling in Dryden WoodOil clear, blondes, or silver-greys enhances its appeal.

TRUWOOD

Truwood® combines durability, stability, and aesthetics in a natural, renewable timber product. Codemark certified, it is compatible with RK Timber’s Vertical, Rusticated, Bevel Back, and Board and Batten Weatherboard Systems. Truwood® is a thermally modified hardwood sourced from well-managed forests. The thermal treatment enhances its durability and stability, producing a rich teak-colored timber without chemicals or resins. It is made from Ayous timber, using advanced modification technology with heat, water vapor, and pressure.

Highly durable (Class 2) and dimensionally stable, Truwood® resists cupping, splitting, and checking. Its reduced moisture content improves coating performance, and it is factory-coated with Sansin PrecisionCoat WoodForce for natural aesthetics and water repellence.

Ideal for cladding, Truwood® is available in 19mm thick profiles compliant with NZS3617 and Branz Bulletin 411. It also suits window frames, doors, gates, and internal joinery, offering exceptional performance and minimal maintenance.
